Kill White Lines in Acrobat

Answered by Jay Nelson, Editor and Publisher, Design Tools Monthly

Question:
Sometimes we create or receive a PDF and there's an unexpected white line around an item on the page. That white line doesn't print, but it would be nice if we didn't have to worry about whether it's part of the design. Do you have any advice?

Answer:
The PDFs you're viewing don't happen to be exported from Adobe's Creative Suite, do they? I thought so. You can make them go away on screen by turning off "Smooth Line Art" in Acrobat's Page Display preferences. As you mentioned, that white line usually doesn't print anyway, but you'll feel better not seeing the white line.
